吾言甚易知 甚易行
My terms are simple to fully grasp, simple to practice

天下莫能知 莫能行
The planet simply cannot understand, simply cannot apply

言有宗
My terms have basis

事有君
My actions have basic principle
5
夫唯無知
Individuals do not have an understanding of this
6
是以不我知
Hence they do not realize me
7
知我者希
Those who fully grasp me are handful of
8
則我者貴
So I am remarkably valued
9
是以聖人被褐懷玉
Thus the sage wears simple clothing but holds jade
